Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager / Construction Manager who can own job sites from start to finish. This person is equal parts field leader and operational thinker — someone who knows how to source and manage a crew, keep a project on schedule and on budget, and hold everyone (including themselves) to a high standard. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all active remodeling projects from pre-construction through final walkthrough, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- Source, vet, and coordinate subcontractors and day laborers — building and maintaining a reliable crew network across the LA area
- Delegate tasks clearly and effectively to on-site workers, holding crew members accountable to timelines and quality standards
- Conduct daily site visits to inspect work quality, monitor progress, and resolve any issues before they escalate
- Read and interpret blueprints, project scopes, and material specifications with precision
- Communicate proactively with the owner and clients on project status, changes, and any concerns
- Create and manage project schedules, track milestones, and adjust plans when needed to stay on track
- Order materials, coordinate deliveries, and manage inventory on site — minimizing waste and downtime
- Ensure all work meets local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards
- Document project progress through photos, notes, and reports for internal records and client updates
- Identify and resolve problems in the field quickly and independently — you are the decision-maker on site
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in construction management, general contracting, or project supervision — residential remodeling experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to source and manage subcontractors and construction crews in the Los Angeles area
- Strong delegation skills — you know how to assign the right task to the right person and follow up without micromanaging
- Obsessive attention to detail: you catch issues before they become problems and hold your work to the highest standard
- Ability to read blueprints, scopes of work, and construction plans
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, trades coordination (plumbing, electrical, framing, tile, etc.), and building codes
- Strong communication skills — you can speak clearly with clients, crews, and ownership without things getting lost in translation
- Self-starter mentality: you take ownership of your projects and do not need to be hand-held
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus — most crews in AL are Spanish-speaking
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
