Purchasing Manager – Construction & Development

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Purchasing Manager. In this role, you will lead procurement for our construction and real estate development projects while ensuring that all FF&E/OS&E, materials, equipment, and subcontracted services are sourced competitively, delivered on time, and aligned with project budgets and quality standards.

As part of our leadership team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and field operations teams to support our resort developments from pre-construction through completion.

Salary Range: $90,000k - $115,000k

This is an in-office position located at our Wisconsin Dells, WI. resort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and procure FF&E/OS&E, equipment, and subcontractor services, while utilizing current vendor partnerships, whenever possible
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and trade partners
  • Issue purchase orders and manage contracts for materials and services across multiple job sites
  • Create project budgets and analyze procurement needs to ensure competitive pricing and cost control
  • Collaborate with estimating, project management, and field teams to support project timelines
  • Track material lead times, delivery schedules, and resolve supply chain issues proactively
  • Maintain vendor performance records and conduct periodic reviews
  • Work with the Procurement department to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, safety standards, and communicate new vendors, FF&E/OS&E to the company Procurement team
  • Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during pre-construction
  • Coordinate procurement for change orders, additions, and special project needs
  • Work with end users at each property to assist with the replenishment or replacement of FF&E/OS&E, whenever needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience within commercial construction or large real estate projects
  • Strong understanding of construction purchasing, systems, and vendor/supplier networks
  • Experience in creating purchasing budgets and delivery schedules
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and project scopes
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
  • Familiarity with Premier Construction Software is a plus
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across active construction sites
  • A leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service to others.
  • Experience with commercial developments is preferred.
  • Experience managing procurement for both self-performed and subcontracted work is preferred.
