Construction Recruiter

Position Summary

The Recruiter plays a critical role within the Personnel Department by generating and maintaining a steady pipeline of qualified applicants for Alpha Structural. This position is responsible for maintaining active job postings, promoting open positions, and ensuring that recruiting efforts consistently produce qualified candidates so that staffing needs are met without delay.

Recruiting efforts support a wide range of positions across the company, including construction laborers, field staff, technical roles, and professional positions such as Structural Engineers and other specialists.

The Recruiter works closely with Human Resources and department leaders to identify staffing needs, coordinate hiring efforts, and move qualified candidates efficiently through the hiring process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruiting and Lead Generation

  • Maintain active job postings across multiple recruiting platforms.
  • Promote open positions to generate a consistent flow of qualified applicants.
  • Source candidates through platforms such as Indeed, Craigslist, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other recruiting channels.
  • Stay informed on market trends, compensation ranges, and recruiting strategies to ensure postings remain competitive.

Applicant Screening and Interview Coordination

  • Review incoming applications and identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct initial candidate outreach and pre-screening conversations.
  • Schedule interviews with hiring managers and department leaders.
  • Ensure candidates move efficiently through the hiring process.

Recruiting Events and Outreach

  • Organize and coordinate recruiting events such as job fairs, college career events, and trade school recruiting activities.
  • Register the company for recruiting events and coordinate promotional materials.
  • Represent Alpha Structural professionally at recruiting events.
  • Collect candidate information and ensure proper follow-up with potential applicants.

Recruiting Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain organized records of applicants, recruiting sources, and hiring activity.
  • Track recruiting statistics including lead sources, time to hire, number of interviews, and hires started.
  • Prepare reports related to recruiting performance and hiring metrics.

Department Support

  • Coordinate daily and weekly with Human Resources and department leaders regarding staffing needs and hiring priorities.
  • Assist with additional HR or administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain professional communication and coordination with all divisions of the company.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in recruiting, human resources, or talent acquisition preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple recruiting efforts simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using online recruiting platforms and sourcing tools.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally at recruiting events.

Safety & Work Environment

  • Office-based position with frequent communication with applicants, employees, and department managers.
  • Occasional travel may be required for recruiting events such as job fairs or career days.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the office during the workday.
  • Ability to use computers, phones, and recruiting platforms extensively.
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs (materials for recruiting events or office supplies).

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
