Construction Senior Project Manager

Construction Management and Development, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Assessment and Oversight division. This group provides independent construction monitoring and lender services, protecting client investments by ensuring projects are viable, well-managed, and progressing according to plan. The Senior Project Manager will oversee detailed pre-construction assessments, ongoing site monitoring, and project reporting, while serving as a trusted representative to lenders, investors, and developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with and report to the Director of Assessment and Oversight Services, providing fulltime support across all active projects.
  • Lead comprehensive Plan and Cost Reviews for new projects, analyzing budgets, schedules, drawings, environmental and geotechnical reports, and developer team capacity.
  • Prepare detailed written reports that summarize findings, highlight risks, and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify construction progress, quality, and compliance with approved budgets and schedules.
  • Review and monitor contractor schedules, manpower logs, procurement logs, and RFI activity to identify trends or risks.
  • Evaluate change orders and proposed revisions for cost, schedule, and scope impact, advising clients on risk and mitigation strategies.
  • Review contractor payment applications and borrower disbursement requests against actual work in place and contractual terms.
  • Track overall project performance and escalate concerns related to budget, schedule, safety, or quality.
  • Prepare and deliver Monthly Project Overview Reports for lenders, investors, and developers with clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders, representing CMD with professionalism in client meetings, loan closings, and presentations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Managers and Analysts, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal reporting standards, templates, and processes.

Qualifications:

  • 810 years of project management or owner’s representation experience in real estate development, construction management, or related fields.

Strong technical understanding of construction budgets, schedules, drawings, and cost control.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience preparing reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (advanced degree or PMP/CCM certification a plus).

Location: Primarily remote; with travel required
