JG Development, which includes two construction divisions of Brio Design Homes and Supreme Structures is seeking a full-time Construction Shop Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s shop/warehouse, including the management of tools, equipment, and materials that support active job sites.
The Construction Shop Manager ensures the shop/warehouse remains organized, secure, and efficient while coordinating job site logistics and deliveries. The role plays a key part in supporting field operations by ensuring materials and equipment are available, properly maintained, and delivered safely and efficiently.
JG Development is a local employee-owned general contractor with approximately 70 employees. We are based in Madison, Wisconsin, and complete projects within about one hour of the Madison area.
Essential Functions
This position requires the ability to perform physical labor in various environments and conditions, including lifting 50-80 pounds. The role involves standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands and fingers to handle tools and materials. Clear verbal communication and the ability to listen and collaborate are essential.
Key Responsibilities
· Load, transport, deliver, and unload tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites as scheduled.
· Track deliveries and confirm receipt of materials and equipment at job sites.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Two years of experience in construction & remodeling trades, practice, procedures, techniques
· Knowledge of operating tools & equipment
· Ability to work safely and always follow company and OSHA safety standards
· Able to organize assigned tasks for completion in the most efficient manner, alone or with help when required
· Ability to climb ladders, work with tools, lumber and materials, and lift & manipulate objects
· Ability to prioritize and adapt to ever-changing priorities and activities with tact
· Ability to meet tight deadlines
· Ability to be flexible in the work environment and willing and able to adapt to changing organizational needs
· Ability to travel within Wisconsin and other states as necessary; must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and proof of personal auto liability insurance meeting Wisconsin’s minimum requirement
· Successful completion of a background check
