Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all site-based construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing field operations, experience in construction planning and scheduling, and a strong understanding of Lean Construction principles. The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and preferred experience in cold-formed steel (CFS) construction are essential for success in this role. This position requires collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure safe, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery. This position requires high volume of travel.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management & Coordination:

Oversee daily construction site operations, ensuring all activities comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.

Supervise subcontractors, trades, and construction crews; monitor productivity and resolve field issues as they arise.

Conduct daily site walkthroughs and safety audits; enforce compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.

Coordinate just-in-time delivery of equipment and materials to support Lean site logistics and minimize inventory waste.
Planning And Scheduling

Develop and maintain short-term and weekly lookahead schedules aligned with the master project schedule.

Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Scheduler to track progress, forecast impacts, and adjust sequencing.

Lead daily stand-up meetings and weekly work planning sessions using the Last Planner System.

Identify and mitigate potential schedule conflicts or scope gaps proactively.
Lean Construction And Continuous Improvement

Apply Lean Construction principles to enhance workflow reliability, eliminate waste, and drive continuous improvement.

Facilitate pull planning sessions with subcontractors to improve coordination and productivity.

Monitor metrics such as PPC (Percent Plan Complete), constraints, and reasons for plan failures to improve accountability and learning.

Promote a collaborative jobsite culture focused on respect, transparency, and performance.
Quality Assurance & Document Control

Interpret and implement design specifications and construction drawings with a high degree of accuracy.

Conduct regular field inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and complies with approved plans and submittals.

Collaborate with quality control personnel to resolve field discrepancies or non-conformance issues.

Support punch list management and project closeout procedures.
Communication & Reporting

Act as the primary on-site liaison with the General Contractor (GC) site superintendent. Attend all GC meetings and provide daily reports, updates, incident reporting and schedule management.

Act as the primary on-site liaison between field operations, project management, design professionals, and clients.

Maintain comprehensive daily field reports, including labor, materials, inspections, and incidents.

Provide real-time updates to the project team on schedule progress, material needs, and site issues.

Ensure that RFIs, submittals, and change orders are communicated and resolved effectively.
Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience supervising commercial, institutional, or industrial construction projects.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP construction drawings and shop drawings.

Experience with cold-formed steel (CFS) construction methods and installation is preferred.

Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).

Strong knowledge of Lean Construction methodologies, including the Last Planner System, visual displays and pull planning.

OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred).

Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Attributes

Lean Six Sigma or Lean Construction certification (LCI or equivalent).

Trade background or technical training in structural framing, particularly in CFS systems.

Familiarity with prefabrication or panelized construction workflows is a plus.

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
Work Environment

Full-time, on-site position. Project sites would be in various states primarily in Southern United States.

May require extended hours, night shifts, and weekend work depending on project needs.

Physical presence on active construction sites, with walking, climbing, and lifting as required.
