Commercial Construction Superintendent — Tenant Improvement
Location:
San Jose, CA
Compensation:
Base salary up to $200K + full benefits
Some superintendents manage the schedule. The great ones
set the pace
, protect the quality, and keep the job moving no matter what the building throws at them.
We’re looking for that kind of superintendent.
This role is with a
Tenant Improvement–focused general contractor
operating across Class A office, corporate interiors, tech spaces, life‑science conversions, and high‑end commercial buildouts. Projects move fast, clients expect precision, and field leadership is the difference between a smooth turnover and a painful one.
What You’ll Lead
-
Day‑to‑day field operations for commercial TI projects from mobilization through punchlist
-
Coordination of subcontractors, inspections, deliveries, and site logistics in active, occupied buildings
-
Enforcement of safety, quality, and cleanliness standards across all phases of construction
-
Short‑interval scheduling, look‑ahead planning, and daily reporting
-
Problem‑solving in real time — sequencing, conflicts, unforeseen conditions, and client‑driven changes
-
Maintaining strong relationships with building engineers, property managers, and client reps
-
Ensuring work is completed to spec, on schedule, and with minimal disruption to tenants
What Makes You a Strong Fit
-
7–15+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial TI or interiors construction
-
Deep understanding of interior systems: framing, finishes, MEP coordination, life‑safety, and building operations
-
Proven success running fast‑paced TI projects in downtown/urban environments
-
Ability to lead subcontractors with clarity, urgency, and respect
-
Strong communication skills — you keep PMs informed and clients confident
-
Comfortable navigating occupied spaces, tight timelines, and shifting priorities
-
Tech‑savvy with field management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, etc.)
Why This Role Stands Out
-
Consistent pipeline of negotiated TI work with repeat clients
-
Projects with visibility, speed, and complexity — never boring
-
Leadership that trusts superintendents to run the field, not micromanage them
-
Competitive compensation with a base up to
$200K
, plus bonus and full benefits
-
A culture built around professionalism, accountability, and doing things the right way
