Construction Superintendent

Headquartered in scenic Carlsbad, CA, we are an integrated Design-Build organization delivering comprehensive services across construction, architecture, virtual design and construction (VDC), trade specialties, and sustainable/LEED project management. Our portfolio includes projects ranging from $30M to $100M+, spanning locations throughout the United States as well as international work at U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

We are currently looking for a skilled

Construction Superintendent to support our Field Operations team based in

Norfolk, VA.

This role may involve second-shift work depending on project needs.The Superintendent will be responsible for leading on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and project requirements. This individual plays a key role in delivering projects efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while upholding our company's core Mission, Vision, and Values. Candidates located in the local area are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations, ensuring work meets RFPs, plans, specs, and proposal documents
• Direct and coordinate the efforts of employees and subcontractors on-site
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
• Manage schedule, budget, and materials to keep projects on track
• Foster a collaborative, safety-conscious work environment
• Act as a liaison between field crews, clients, and office/project management teams
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum:
• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred:
• College coursework or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Government, military, or large commercial project experience preferred
• Prior experience in Design-Build and large-scale projects strongly preferred
• Required:
• 5+ years as a Superintendent on mid-size commercial projects
• 4+ years (or equivalent) of field/trade experience in the construction industry
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet tools
• Familiarity with Primavera P3/P6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit (preferred)
• Certifications:
• CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30, EM-385, and STS certifications required (training can be provided if necessary)
• LEED GAA or AP certification is a plus
• Additional Skills:
• Spanish/English bilingual abilities are advantageous
