Construction Supervisor – Mechanical

Biotech Energy is currently looking for an experienced and practical minded Construction Supervisor to join our mechanical site team. This role is ideal for a hands on professional with seven to eight years of experience in mechanical site supervision, particularly within industrial or process plant environments. You will be responsible for leading daily site operations, managing work crews, and ensuring that all piping, equipment installation, and testing activities are executed safely, correctly, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

As a Construction Supervisor, you will be stationed on site and actively involved in the day to day execution of mechanical works. You will oversee the installation of piping systems and mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with approved method statements and standard operating procedures. You will coordinate directly with subcontractors and work crews, assigning tasks and monitoring productivity to maintain project momentum.

You will play a critical role during the testing and commissioning phases, verifying that systems are installed correctly and performing as intended. Your ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometric drawings electronically will be essential for ensuring accurate installation. You will also be responsible for maintaining site discipline, enforcing safety protocols, and reporting daily progress to the construction manager.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate holds a DAE or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and brings a minimum of seven to eight years of practical site supervision experience. You have worked extensively with piping systems, mechanical equipment installation, and have been actively involved in pre commissioning and commissioning activities. Your strength lies in your practical knowledge you understand how things work on the ground and you know how to get the job done with the resources available.

You have proven ability to read and understand method statements, risk assessments, and SOPs, and you can translate these documents into clear instructions for your team. Manpower handling is second nature to you; you know how to lead, motivate, and manage skilled and semi skilled workers to achieve daily targets without compromising on quality or safety.

Computer and Communication Skills

While this is primarily a site based supervisory role, basic computer proficiency is required. You should be comfortable using MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, for preparing simple reports, maintaining site records, and tracking manpower. You must be able to view and interpret drawings and documents on a laptop or tablet, and you should have basic email communication skills for coordinating with the project team and responding to instructions.
