    Position Purpose

    Key Responsibilities:
    Instructional Duties:
    • Develop and deliver lesson plans in construction technology and drafting/design that align with NJDOE standards.
    • Teach students how to use CAD software (2D & 3D) for drafting and modeling design concepts.
    • Provide instruction in construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations.
    • Demonstrate proper use of hand and power tools, materials testing, safety practices, and blueprint reading.
    • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, including proper maintenance of tools and lab equipment.
    • Prepare students for industry certifications and post-secondary education or employment.
    Technical & Industry Integration:
    • Create detailed mechanical design drawings based on engineering concepts and project specifications.
    • Instruct students on design analysis and modifications for improved functionality and production efficiency.
    • Incorporate real-world industry practices such as design documentation, quality control, and project management.
    • Provide hands-on learning experiences aligned with industry expectations (e.g., OSHA training, building codes, etc.).
    Assessment & Collaboration:
    • Evaluate student performance through projects, assignments, practical assessments, and written tests.
    • Collaborate with other teachers, counselors, to support student success and career readiness.
    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
