Position Overview
The Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon will lead a comprehensive breast service, delivering advanced oncologic and oncoplastic surgery within a multidisciplinary, patient‑centred environment. This senior role requires expertise in breast cancer management, reconstructive techniques, and service development within a high‑performing healthcare system in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive management of benign and malignant breast disease: Clinical assessment, diagnostic decision‑making, and surgical planning.
- Advanced oncoplastic breast surgery: Therapeutic mammoplasty, volume displacement/replacement, implant‑based and autologous reconstruction.
- Multidisciplinary leadership: Active participation in MDT meetings with oncology, radiology, pathology, and plastic surgery.
- Consultant‑level clinical practice: Outpatient clinics, perioperative care, and long‑term follow‑up.
- Clinical governance and quality improvement: Audit, M&M reviews, pathway optimisation, and adherence to international standards.
- Patient‑centred communication: Delivering empathetic, culturally sensitive care aligned with UAE expectations.
- Teaching and mentorship: Training junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Research and service development: Contribution to clinical research, innovation, and expansion of breast services.
Qualifications & Experience
- Board‑certified Consultant Breast/Oncoplastic or General Surgeon with fellowship training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.
- Minimum 7–10 years post‑board certification experience in breast oncology and reconstruction.
- Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensure.
- Proven expertise in advanced oncoplastic techniques including immediate reconstruction and symmetrisation.
- Experience in accredited breast units with strong MDT involvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suited to diverse patient populations.
