Gynecologist – Roles & ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat disorders of the female reproductive system.
- Conduct routine gynecological examinations and preventive health screenings.
- Manage pregnancy-related care including antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal services.
- Perform normal and assisted deliveries as required.
- Handle gynecological emergencies and high-risk obstetric cases.
- Conduct minor and major gynecological surgeries (as per privileges).
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans based on patient diagnosis.
- Monitor fetal and maternal health during pregnancy.
Patient Care & Counseling
- Provide counseling on family planning, contraception, and reproductive health.
- Educate patients on menstrual health, menopause, infertility, and hormonal disorders.
- Maintain compassionate, ethical, and confidential patient care.
- Explain medical procedures, risks, and treatment options clearly to patients and families.
Coordination & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, anesthetists, pediatricians, and other specialists.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH/clinical protocols, and legal standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Administrative & Professional Duties
- Attend departmental meetings, case discussions, and emergency calls.
- Supervise junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff when required.
- Stay updated with latest medical advancements and treatment protocols.
- Follow ethical medical practices and hospital guidelines at all times.
