Consultant Ophthalmologist - Leading University Healthcare Facility

This role is ideal for an accomplished ophthalmologist who wishes to contribute to cutting-edge clinical care, academic teaching, and research within a world-class academic medical environment.

As a Consultant Ophthalmologist, you will provide expert clinical care to patients with complex ophthalmic conditions, lead surgical and therapeutic interventions, and actively participate in multidisciplinary collaborations. Additionally, you will contribute to the training of medical students, residents, and fellows, and engage in research activities aimed at advancing the field of ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional clinical ophthalmology services, diagnosing and managing complex eye diseases.
  • Perform advanced ophthalmic surgeries with precision, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Lead and participate in educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Engage in clinical and academic research, publishing findings to contribute to the advancement of ophthalmology.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.
  • Guide and supervise junior medical staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Stay updated with the latest evidence-based practices and technological advancements in ophthalmology.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of clinical protocols and standards within the department.



Requirements

  • Extensive clinical experience in managing complex ophthalmic cases and performing advanced surgeries.
  • Strong academic background with demonstrated involvement in teaching and research activities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centered care of the highest standard.
  • Experience working in a university healthcare or academic medical center setting preferred.
  • Valid medical license and board certification in Ophthalmology.
