Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Pediatric Craniofacial Surgeon to join a leading children’s healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide specialized surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired craniofacial abnormalities while delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary pediatric setting.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in advanced craniofacial reconstructive procedures and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize functional and aesthetic outcomes for pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired craniofacial conditions in pediatric patients.
- Perform complex craniofacial surgical procedures including correction of craniosynostosis, cleft-related craniofacial deformities, facial asymmetry, craniofacial trauma reconstruction, and congenital skull and facial abnormalities.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for pediatric craniofacial surgery cases.
- Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons, ENT specialists, orthodontists, speech therapists, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Develop individualized treatment and long-term reconstructive care plans for pediatric patients.
- Participate in craniofacial multidisciplinary clinics and surgical planning meetings.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, surgical options, risks, postoperative care, and long-term outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and hospital policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, teaching, and continuing medical education programs.
- Ensure adherence to patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
- Board Certification / Fellowship in Plastic Surgery, Craniofacial Surgery, or Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery.
- Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in the relevant specialty.
- Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in pediatric craniofacial surgery within a tertiary care or academic hospital.
- Strong expertise in pediatric craniofacial reconstructive and corrective surgical procedures.
- Excellent surgical, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in cleft and craniofacial multidisciplinary programs.
- Exposure to advanced craniofacial reconstruction and pediatric skull base procedures.
- Academic and research experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment.
