Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine – Abu Dhabi

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide expert emergency medical care to infants, children, and adolescents presenting with acute illnesses, trauma, and life-threatening conditions while ensuring high standards of patient-centered and evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage pediatric emergency cases including medical, surgical, and trauma-related emergencies.
  • Provide immediate stabilization and advanced resuscitation for critically ill or injured pediatric patients.
  • Manage emergency procedures such as airway management, intubation, lumbar puncture, sedation, and trauma care.
  • Collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists, intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management.
  • Supervise and support junior medical staff within the emergency department.
  • Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness, disaster management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to teaching, clinical audits, research, and continuing medical education programs.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
  • Board Certification / Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Emergency Medicine with Pediatric Emergency specialization.
  • Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in pediatric emergency medicine within a tertiary care hospital.
  • Certification in PALS, ACLS, and ATLS preferred.
  • Strong expertise in pediatric resuscitation and critical emergency care.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in pediatric trauma centers or academic hospitals.
  • Exposure to pediatric critical care and disaster medicine.
  • Research and teaching experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
