Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Pediatric Neurologist to join a prestigious hospital in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide specialized neurological care for infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of neurological disorders while delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
As a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist, you will work with a multidisciplinary team and utilize advanced diagnostic technologies and treatment approaches to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage pediatric neurological disorders including epilepsy, developmental delays, neuromuscular disorders, headaches, movement disorders, and neurogenetic conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, review medical histories, and interpret diagnostic investigations including EEG, MRI, CT, and other neurophysiological studies.
- Develop individualized treatment and long-term management plans for pediatric patients.
- Manage both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology cases.
- Collaborate closely with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding neurological conditions, treatment plans, and long-term care.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, academic activities, conferences, and continuing medical education programs.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in pediatric neurology and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
- Board Certification / Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology.
- Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Pediatric Neurology.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist in a reputed tertiary care or academic hospital.
- Strong expertise in pediatric neurological disorders and neurodiagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Western-trained candidates are preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in epilepsy management and pediatric neurophysiology.
- Exposure to multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience programs.
- Research publications and academic involvement are an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment.
