Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of pediatric emergency conditions.
  • Provide immediate stabilization and treatment for critically ill and injured pediatric patients.
  • Lead pediatric resuscitations and emergency interventions when required.
  • Manage trauma, medical emergencies, and life-threatening conditions in children and adolescents.
  • Collaborate with pediatric specialists, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Supervise and support junior physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and clinical governance activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and medical records.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and continuing medical education programs.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree from a recognized institution.
  • American Board Certification or Canadian Board Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
  • Completion of accredited residency training in Pediatrics and fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
  • Eligibility for Consultant-level classification according to DOH Abu Dhabi standards.
  • Valid DOH License, Eligibility Letter, or eligibility to obtain licensure in Abu Dhabi.
  • Significant consultant-level experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
  • Current certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and other relevant emergency medicine certifications are preferred.
