Consultant Psychiatrist (Arabic Speaker) – Qatar

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who is fluent in Arabic to join a leading healthcare organization in Qatar. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health conditions while delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support the mental wellbeing of patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and other mental health conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management.
  • Conduct psychotherapy, counseling, and behavioral interventions where appropriate.
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient psychiatric cases.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, neurologists, primary care physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care when required.
  • Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive strategies.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with Qatar healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education programs.
  • Ensure adherence to patient confidentiality, ethical standards, and mental health best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by Qatar healthcare authorities.
  • Board Certification / Fellowship in Psychiatry.
  • Valid QCHP/DHP Consultant License or Eligibility Letter.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in Psychiatry within a reputed hospital or mental health center.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
  • Strong expertise in adult psychiatry and mental health management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in multicultural and multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
  • Exposure to community psychiatry and psychotherapy programs.
  • Academic and research experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage complex psychiatric and behavioral health cases.
