A leading multispecialty hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is expanding its Respiratory Medicine and Pulmonary Care services and is seeking a qualified Consultant / Specialist Pulmonologist to join its multidisciplinary clinical team. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases within a modern hospital environment supported by advanced pulmonary diagnostics, imaging services, and critical care facilities.
This position offers the opportunity to work within an integrated respiratory care program managing a wide range of lung conditions, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, sleep-related breathing disorders, and complex pulmonary infections, while collaborating closely with critical care physicians, thoracic surgeons, and internal medicine specialists.
Role Overview

- Healthcare Setting: Multispecialty hospital with respiratory medicine and critical care services
- Experience Required: Minimum 3+ years post specialist or board certification
- Practice Model: Combination of outpatient respiratory clinics, inpatient consultations, and pulmonary diagnostic procedures
The successful candidate will diagnose and manage respiratory and pulmonary disorders, ensuring evidence-based treatment and long-term disease management for patients with both acute and chronic lung conditions.
Key Responsibilities - Pulmonology
- Diagnose and manage respiratory diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, and bronchitis
- Evaluate and treat complex pulmonary conditions, such as interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension
- Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs), spirometry, and other respiratory diagnostic investigations
- Conduct bronchoscopy and related pulmonary procedures where clinically indicated
- Manage sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, and coordinate sleep study evaluations
- Provide inpatient consultations for patients with acute respiratory failure and severe pulmonary infections
- Collaborate with critical care teams in the management of ventilated or critically ill respiratory patients
- Develop personalised treatment plans and long-term disease management strategies for chronic lung conditions
- Provide patient education on smoking cessation, pulmonary rehabilitation, and preventive respiratory care
- Coordinate care with thoracic surgeons, infectious disease specialists, and internal medicine physicians when advanced treatment is required
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards
- Participate in clinical audits, respiratory care programs, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to international respiratory medicine guidelines and UAE healthcare regulations
Qualifications & Board Recognition

- DM / DNB / FCPS Pulmonology or equivalent recognised specialist qualification
