The successful candidate will play a critical part in advancing stroke services through clinical leadership, research, and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with acute and chronic stroke.
• Lead and coordinate stroke care pathways and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Contribute to clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare staff.
• Collaborate with other medical specialties, rehabilitation teams, and community services.
• Stay updated with the latest evidence-based guidelines and best practices in stroke medicine.

Requirements

• UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Stroke Medicine or Neurology with Stroke subspecialty.
• Eligible for GMC registration and license to practice in the UK.
• Proven experience as a Consultant in Stroke Medicine within the UK healthcare system.
• Strong clinical skills with a comprehensive understanding of stroke management protocols.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to research, teaching, and continuing professional development.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a government healthcare setting.
