Scope of work
Context

Trade data integrity is essential to Millennium overall as well as each of its businesses

In the past, Millennium primarily invested in equities

  • Our research and trade data for equities can be analyzed with confidence, relative to other asset classes
  • This confidence has been built over time through the combined efforts across execution services, business and technology

As the firm has grown in scope and size, demand for similar research and trade analysis in other asset classes, including options, credit, rates, commodities, has also grown. Notable recent requests to broader Execution Services team include

  • Office of the Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) asked to better understand fixed income / credit derivative trade performance and potential opportunity for growth
  • Volatility business has asked to understand their trading information and potential opportunity for growth as well

Given the complexity of Millennium’s execution stack (including the number of systems, vendors and teams), understanding and addressing the quality of trade data is not straightforward: This effort requires the ability to navigate across multiple systems as well as teams and individuals who historically have not had a need to closely collaborate

Overarching goal

Holistically produce and maintain clean, consistent trade data that can be used across teams and businesses to drive greater value to our investors. Sustainably address consistent data quality issues across internal and external systems

Tactical goals

Each internal and external trading system across the lifecycle of a trade should provide a stream of comprehensive, timely and accurate data (this should be a requirement before completion of onboarding any trading system or vendor)

  • In other words, no one team should be singularly flagging issues
  • All applications should have their own independent DQ checks that are communicated across the full stack

All teams should collectively define and agree on SLAs for DQ issue acknowledgement, correction and quick turnaround

This role ultimately lays the groundwork for all teams to achieve aforementioned tactical goals in the future, ideally independent of this role

This role will require close partnership with the following teams:

  • Execution Services: Electronic Trading Services, Central Liquidity Strategies
  • Equity IT: Market Connectivity, Development, Execution Technology (SOMS, market connectivity / EPA, etc.)
  • Operations, Middle Office and Corporate Technology: Reference Data / IMPACT,
  • Systematic Data (TIQ)
  • External third party vendors: Data providers, brokers

The estimated rate for this position is $750 to $1,650 per day, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing the rate, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role.
