Consultant (Translation) - Type A

Project Context and Scope

Qualifications: Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

Secondary education is required, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

Demonstrated experience providing translation and interpretation support (oral and written), particularly in humanitarian or assistance programme contexts.
Previous experience working with displaced populations , including refugees, asylum seekers, or internally displaced persons, is required.
Experience working in camp settings is highly desirable.
Proven ability to support community engagement, beneficiary communication, and culturally sensitive information dissemination .

Languages

Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto and English is required.
Fluency in both Dari and Pashto is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Notes

IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
