Project Context and Scope

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• Secondary education is required, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience.

OR

• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Women's Studies or related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Dedicated experience in implementing GBV interventions, particularly working with survivors and providing direct assistance in emergency contexts.

• Minimum three years of experience (counseling survivors of abuse or violence and implementing activities for women and girls or proven engagement in women’s rights/groups).

• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience, within GBV prevention, response & risk-mitigation.

• Clear understanding of gender, human rights, issues surrounding violence against women and girls

• Experience working in emergency responses targeting vulnerable women and girls

• Experience providing GBV case management.

• Prior experience in managing Women and Girl safe space (WGSS) in any setting is an advantage.
  

Languages

• Fluency in English and Dari and/or Pashto is required.
• Fluency in both Dari and Pashto is an advantage.
  

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of GBV Guiding Principles, Inter-Agency GBV Minimum Standards, and ability to manage high-pressure situations and support complex cases in a rapidly changing environment.

• In-depth and clear understanding of intersectionality, gender, power relations and issues around violence against women, girls, men, boys and persons of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.

• Demonstrated commitment to supporting empowerment of women, girls, and marginalized communities.

• Coordination skills to enable information sharing and facilitate working relations with internal units, and external partners.

• Strong interpersonal and empathetic skills, including ability to work in a team and multi-cultural environment.

• Solid computer skills (MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Notes

IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
