Consulting Psychiatrist

MMR is seeking a consulting psychiatrist (contract) to provide guidance and expertise on mental health conditions and substance abuse disorders. This individual will work closely with primary care providers, clinicians, and other members of the healthcare team to provide appropriate and comprehensive care.

Role Description

• Offer expert opinions on diagnosing and managing mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders, including recommendations for medication, therapy, and other treatment approaches.
• Provide education and training to healthcare teams for recognizing and managing behavioral health conditions, including the use of specific medications and treatment modalities.
• Play a key role in conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients with mental health concerns, including assessing the severity of the condition, identifying contributing factors, and developing a personalized treatment plan.

Qualifications

• Current medical license to practice in Idaho/Board Certification in Psychiatry is required.
• Strong skills in diagnostic evaluation and the ability to create effective treatment strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Familiarity with addiction counseling methods is a plus.
