Container Depot Operations Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Container Depot Operations Specialist to help with daily operations at our container storage and handling facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the movement, inspection, grading, repairing, storage, and documentation of containers, ensuring smooth logistics flow and compliance with safety standards. Your proactive approach will help optimize depot efficiency, support customer satisfaction, and maintain a safe working environment. Duties

• Arrive on time, ready to work (7am-5pm Monday through Thursday)
• Manage daily depot activities, including safely moving storage containers using forklifts, container handlers, yard trucks, or other approved equipment
• Load and unload storage containers from trailers and chassis trailers
• Organize and stack containers in the yard according to the company layout and safety standards
• Maintain accurate records of containers using in-house systems
• Maintain clean and orderly yard conditions
• Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and/or heavy equipment with 2 years' experience (forklift certification required)
• Basic welding and fabrication skills with 1 year experience (MIG welding certified)
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to identify structural damage and assess repair needs
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically-demanding tasks
• Valid driver's license, CDL a bonus
• Preferred qualifications include experience working with ISO shipping containers, OSHA safety training, and experience in a yard or industrial environment
• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining high accuracy in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently
