Container Dispatching Officer

Overview

Job Details:

Plan and coordinate daily container drayage operations to ensure containers are collected and delivered within scheduled timelines.

Arrange transportation routes while ensuring compliance with port procedures and transport regulations.

Maintain regular communication with drivers, port staff, warehouses, and customers to ensure smooth operational flow.

Track container movements and update the dispatch system with accurate and timely status information.

Review transport routes and adjust plans when necessary to improve efficiency and control transportation costs.

Handle operational issues such as shipment delays, equipment shortages, or driver related concerns in a timely manner.

Monitor demurrage, downtime, and related charges while taking proactive steps to reduce avoidable costs.

Prepare operational reports including service performance summaries and daily activity updates.

Work closely with the operations team to improve dispatch coordination and overall transportation processes.

Job Experience Requirements

Practical experience in freight forwarding or container dispatch operations.

Good understanding of port operations, container handling procedures, and transportation regulations.

Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to handle operational issues calmly and efficiently.

Experience using dispatch management systems along with Microsoft Office applications.

Self motivated, organized, and capable of working effectively within a team environment.

Flexibility to work early shifts, extended hours, or weekends when operational requirements demand.
