Content Acquisition Manager to join our global Business Affairs team. The role can be based in Sofia, Amsterdam, Warszaw, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Helsinki or Stockholm. The working language is English.
This is a commercially focused role at the heart of how Storytel builds and scales its content offering across markets. The Business Affairs team is responsible for content acquisitions and commercial negotiations, working closely with local editors and publishers in our markets. Based on editorial priorities, we structure, negotiate and execute the agreements that bring great audiobooks and e-books to Storytel users worldwide.
The role
As Content Acquisition Manager, you will own and drive commercial relationships with publishers and agents in your assigned markets. You will be responsible for negotiating and structuring content agreements that balance editorial ambition, commercial performance, and long term partnerships.
While content experts define what catalogue to acquire, you will be the negotiation lead. You will design the deal based on our existing approaches, negotiate the terms, and ensure contracts are aligned with Storytel’s strategy. Once fully onboarded, no content contract in your market will be concluded without your involvement.
This is a role with real ownership, visibility, and impact.
About The Team
You will join a global Business Affairs team of seven highly specialised and experienced colleagues. Each team member is responsible for specific markets and areas, but we work closely together with continuous knowledge sharing and peer support.
The team collaborates daily with publishers, legal, finance, curation, and local marketing teams across Storytel. Team members are based in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Istanbul, London, Warszaw, and Madrid. While we meet in person a few times a year, most collaboration happens online and in close coordination with colleagues based in same market. Our headquarters is based in Stockholm.
If you ask us, this is a team defined by trust, professionalism, humour and a strong sense of shared responsibility.
About You
We welcome both junior and senior candidates. To succeed in this role, we believe you bring most of the following:
-
Proven experience with negotiations and legal or commercial agreements. Experience from media, entertainment, or publishing is a plus, but strong candidates from other industries are equally welcome.
-
Business level English proficiency, both written and spoken. All contracts and internal collaboration are conducted in English. Knowledge of an additional language relevant to a Storytel market is an advantage. Please also note if you speak Flemish, Romanian, Czech, Ukrainian or Hungarian.
-
An ability to work with a high amount of projects and open negotiations simultaneously with the ability to keep pace, prioritize and move projects individually.
-
A strong appetite for learning and development. We work with systems such as Biblio and Google Looker and are actively developing our use of artificial intelligence and automation in administrative and commercial workflows. You are motivated to grow into a super user with our support.
-
A genuine interest in stories and storytelling. Deep knowledge of the audiobook industry is not required. We will teach you what you need to know but we expect you to be very eager to learn.
-
A high level of attention to detail combined with strong organisational skills. You will manage a high volume of contracts and need to balance precision with efficiency.
-
A self-motivated and structured working style. We operate with clear goals and a high degree of autonomy in how work is planned and executed.
-
The ability to thrive in a matrix organisation, where collaboration, communication and trust across many stakeholders are essential.
