Content & Social Media Specialist
Type: FTE (40 hrs/week)
Schedule: 8 AM–5 PM CT (First 3 months in-office 5 days per week. After 3 months is a hybrid schedule; 3 days in-office, 2 days WFH.)

Role Overview
As our Content & Social Media Specialist, you’ll own high-volume content creation and social media for ECS. You'll be the person who makes ECS look great: writing, designing, filming, and posting content that positions us as the go-to IT partner for growing Houston businesses.
This is a creative production role. You'll be writing blog posts, designing social graphics, editing video clips, and managing our social media presence, using AI tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to work faster and smarter.
Key Responsibilities
- Blog & Website Content: Research and write thought-leadership posts on IT, cybersecurity, and technology trends and services. Create landing page content for vertical-specific campaigns.
- On-Page SEO:Optimize website content for search engines and AI search. Update meta titles, headings, and image alt text based on keyword briefs to improve search rankings.
- Social Media Management & Content Creation: Own all social media channels: LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit. Create and manage the content calendar (blog, social, video). Post and comment consistently, and design social graphics, brand materials, presentations, and visual content in Canva.
- Ad Copywriting: Write ad copy for Google Ads, LinkedIn campaigns and other advertising channels.
- Sales & Marketing Collateral Production: Handle internal brand requests. Develop case studies, one-pagers, and sales collateral using Canva and AI tools. Produce promotional materials for webinars and events. Create and format postcards and mailer copy/design mockups.
- Data Exports & Trend-Flagging: Pull weekly performance metrics. Track and report on content performance: engagement rates, blog traffic, SEO rankings, follower growth.
- Collaboration & Meetings: Participate in weekly team syncs and 1-on-1s.
Qualifications
Must-haves:
- 2-3 years of marketing experience (agency or in-house)
- Strong writing skills — you can take a technical topic and make it accessible
- Design skills — you're comfortable in Canva and can make things look polished and professional
- Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) — you see AI as a productivity multiplier, not a threat
- Social media management experience — you've managed business accounts (LinkedIn preferred)
- Basic understanding of SEO and content marketing
- Self-starter who can own projects from brief to publish
- Houston-based, able to be in-office 3 days per week
Nice-to-haves:
- Video editing experience (Canva video, CapCut, or similar)
- Experience in B2B or technology marketing
- Graphic design beyond Canva (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Understanding of analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights)
- Familiarity with SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar)
