Content & Communications Specialist

Location- Remote flexibility currently offered at 2 days per week and 3 days per week in Joppa, MD office.

Position Overview:

Modular Genius is looking for a creative, organized, and proactive Marketing professional to help bring our projects, people, and brand stories to life. This role will work closely alongside the Director of Marketing to help shape content strategy, support brand growth initiatives, and bring Modular Genius’ project stories to life across multiple channels.

This role will focus on developing engaging content across our digital channels, including social media, newsletters, website updates, customer case studies, email blasts, and industry-thought leadership articles. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and storyteller who enjoys turning real-world construction milestones into compelling content that supports business growth, while also assisting with day-to-day marketing operations and brand support tasks as needed.

This is a hybrid role based near our Joppa, MD office, with regular time spent working from the office and occasional local travel for project sites, events, and content capture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute our social media content calendar
  • Write and publish social posts, employee announcements, and company news
  • Develop customer success stories and project case studies
  • Support MBI articles, award submissions, and thought leadership content
  • Update website pages, blogs, and available building inventory/assets
  • Assist with email blasts, newsletters, and campaign content in HubSpot
  • Coordinate project photo and video assets with internal teams
  • Occasionally visit project sites, company events, or customer-facing functions to capture photos, videos, and content opportunities
  • Coordinate with outside photographers, videographers, vendors, and creative partners as needed
  • Coordinate and manage visual storytelling assets, including project photography, EarthCam progress captures, and short-form video editing/publishing for social, website, and campaign use
  • Help maintain forward-facing relationships with customers, project teams, and vendors to support storytelling opportunities
  • Assist with digital campaign execution, including LinkedIn ad creative, audience list coordination, campaign setup support, and performance reporting
  • Support marketing events and trade shows through registration coordination, pre-event logistics, and collateral prep
  • Support day-to-day marketing administrative tasks, brand operations, and internal logistics as needed
  • Help bring project milestones and customer wins to life through creative storytelling

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in content marketing, social media, communications, or digital marketing preferred
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Experience managing social platforms and content calendars
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Comfort updating website content and digital assets in WordPress
  • Professional presence and confidence in customer, vendor, and event-facing environments
  • Willingness to occasionally travel locally for site visits, events, and project photography opportunities
  • Canva, Adobe, Outlook, HubSpot experience preferred
  • Experience with photo and short-form video editing tools (such as Photoshop, Premiere Rush, Lightroom, Canva, or similar platforms) is a plus
  • Interest in construction, architecture, engineering, or B2B storytelling is a plus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (since role may require traveling to events and sites)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Eligible candidates must reside within a commutable distance of Joppa MD.
