The Role

We’re hiring a Content Manager / Social Media Lead to take full ownership of our content and social presence.

This is not a “posting” role.

You will be responsible for turning real events into high-impact content that:

  • Elevates our brand
  • Attracts the right clients
  • Drives demand before the first sales conversation

You will sit at the intersection of content, brand, and revenue.

What You’ll Do: Own the Content Strategy

  • Plan and execute a monthly content calendar
  • Align content with booking cycles, event seasonality, and marketing goals
  • Build content pillars focused on:
  • Event energy and crowd reactions
  • DJ talent and personality
  • Real, emotional moments
  • Client experience and social proof

Create High-Impact Content

  • Capture and/or direct capture of live event footage
  • Produce:
  • Instagram Reels (primary focus)
  • Short-form video content (TikTok/IG)
  • Stories and recap content
  • Turn one event into multiple pieces of content
  • Write captions that reinforce value and experience, not just services

Tell the Right Story

  • Shift content from:
  • “Here’s what we did” → to
  • “Here’s how it felt to be there”
  • Highlight:
  • Energy shifts
  • Crowd reactions
  • Key moments that define the night

Showcase Our DJs as Talent

  • Make DJs a central part of the brand
  • Highlight personality, style, and ability to control a room
  • Position them as experience creators, not interchangeable vendors

Build a Content System

  • Create a repeatable process for capturing content at every event
  • Work with DJs and team members to ensure consistent footage
  • Maintain a steady pipeline of usable, high-quality content

Drive Better Leads (This Matters)

  • Use content to:
  • Attract experience-driven clients
  • Filter out low-intent, price-focused inquiries
  • Align with sales to understand:
  • What content drives quality leads
  • What doesn’t

Track and Improve Performance

  • Monitor:
  • Engagement (especially saves and shares)
  • Video performance (watch time, completion rate)
  • Audience growth
  • Content-driven inquiries
  • Continuously improve based on what’s actually working

What Success Looks Like

  • Our content feels premium, high-energy, and differentiated
  • We attract better clients—not just more clients
  • Leads are more aligned before the first call
  • Our brand stands out immediately in a crowded market
  • Content consistently performs and improves over time

What We’re Looking For

You’re a strong fit if you:

  • Have experience creating high-performing short-form video (Reels/TikTok)
  • Understand what makes content:
  • Engaging
  • Emotional
  • Shareable
  • Can shoot and/or direct content in live environments
  • Are skilled in:
  • Video editing
  • Storytelling
  • Pacing and timing
  • Think beyond posting—you think in terms of:
  • Brand
  • Audience
  • Conversion

Schedule / Availability

This role is tied to live events.

Weekend availability is required - IN KANSAS CITY METRO

Especially:

  • Saturday nights (regularly required)
  • Some Fridays
  • Occasional Sundays during peak season

Flexible weekday schedule WFH for editing, planning, and meetings.

If you only want a Monday–Friday 9–5 role, this is not the fit.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in weddings, events, nightlife, or entertainment
  • Experience working with premium or experience-based brands
  • Ability to identify “the moment” in a room and capture it

*$55,000–$70,000 depending on experience + bonus opportunities

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
