Applied Adventure is looking for a Content Creator & Social Media Manager to capture and publish scroll-stopping content across our portfolio of outdoor adventure properties (ziplines, aerial parks, campgrounds, bike parks, and more). You’ll be our in-the-field creator—shooting photo + video, editing fast-turn social content, and managing day-to-day posting and optimization across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who’s highly self-started, thrives in a dynamic environment, and can also take direct creative direction and priorities from our CMO — especially when we need specific assets for paid campaigns, print collateral, billboards, brochures, landing pages, and other marketing initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Content capture (photo + video)
- Plan and execute on-site shoots at adventure parks (including elevated environments) to build a robust content library.
- Capture a mix of short-form, social-first content and evergreen, brand-quality assets suitable for paid and print.
- Consistently deliver high-quality footage of guests, staff, attractions, landscapes, food/beverage, and events.
Editing & production
- Edit high-performing vertical video (Reels/TikTok) with strong hooks, pacing, and storytelling.
- Produce polished stills and video assets for: website, ads, posters, brochures, billboards, event promos, and internal needs.
- Organize and maintain a clean, searchable asset library (naming conventions, folders, selects).
Social media management
- Own publishing cadence and platform optimization: captions, hashtags, tagging, trending audio, thumbnails/covers, and basic community engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align content with campaigns, promotions, and seasonal priorities.
- Track performance (reach, saves, watch time, CTR where applicable) and iterate based on what’s working.
- Manage inboxes/DMs as well as influencer outreach, coordination, and contracting for on-site visits.
Collaboration & direction
- Take direction from the CMO and Digital Marketing Team for specific assets (e.g., “we need a hero image for a billboard” or “we need a 15s ad cut for paid social”).
- Proactively pitch ideas: concepts, shot lists, seasonal themes, creator-led trends, and on-site storytelling opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in content creation and/or social media management (small business, agency, or brand-side).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating photography + videography + editing (social-first vertical video required).
- Demonstrated understanding of what performs on TikTok/Instagram/Facebook and why.
- Proficiency with common editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere/Final Cut/CapCut; Lightroom/Photoshop or equivalents).
- Strong project management: can handle multiple deadlines, travel schedules, and deliverable requests without dropping the ball.
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions and around adventure activities.
Adventure-Environment Requirements (Important)
- Willing to travel regularly to our properties (travel expenses covered).
- Not afraid of heights and willing to be trained to operate safely in adventure park environments.
- Able to wear provided PPE and follow all safety protocols (we provide training + gear).
Nice-to-Have
- Experience shooting action sports/outdoor recreation.
- Drone experience (FAA Part 107 a plus).
- Motion graphics/After Effects skills (basic titles, captions, templates).
- Experience coordinating UGC, working with influencers, or managing creator partnerships.
- Basic copywriting for ads/landing pages.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
- You’ve built a repeatable workflow for capture → edit → publish → analyze.
- We have a growing library of high-quality evergreen assets for paid/print.
- Posting is consistent, on-brand, and improving in performance and efficiency.
- The marketing team can reliably request assets — and you deliver them on time.
