Atlantic Coast Mortgage, LLC (“ACM”) is looking for an experienced Content Developer & Copywriter. In this role, you will own all copywriting and help drive content creation efforts, developing everything from blog articles and email campaigns to social media posts, video scripts, and print/digital collateral.


The ideal candidate will have a vision to build a growing brand through creative storytelling and strategic content marketing. You have the strategic mindset to plan high-impact content that aligns with business goals, and the hands-on ability to execute those plans effectively. They will have experience managing the content creation process end-to-end, from brainstorming and research to writing, editing, and publishing across multiple channels. You are confident in conducting discovery calls and interviews to gather insights, and in collaborating with stakeholders (e.g. Loan Officers, senior leadership) to craft compelling, accurate content.


If you are a naturally curious self-starter with an eye for spotting engaging story angles and new content trends, and are adept at switching between the roles of writer, editor, and content strategist, ensuring each piece of content is polished and effective for the corresponding platforms/channels, this could be the role for you!


This full-time, in-office position in Fairfax, VA, is part of the marketing team and reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).


As the Content Developer & Copywriter, you will:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to generate content ideas and plan campaigns in line with business goals
  • Write and edit copy for various formats (blogs, social media, emails, video scripts, print/digital materials)
  • Coordinate with designers and videographers to develop multimedia elements
  • Monitor and analyze content performance to inform future decisions
  • Ensure all content meets brand guidelines, project deadlines, and stakeholder expectations

  • Experience or background in the mortgage, real estate, or finance industry.
  • Familiarity with lending and home-buying concepts can help inform more relevant content (preferred but not required).


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Content Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a content strategy and editorial calendar that supports marketing campaigns and business objectives.

  • Content Creation: Write and edit engaging content for multiple platforms – including blog posts, email newsletters, social media updates, video scripts, and marketing collateral (digital and print). Ensure all copy maintains a consistent brand voice, tone, and style.

  • Research & Collaboration: Conduct discovery calls, interviews, and research to gather information for content. Collaborate with internal teams (Loan Officers, subject matter experts, senior leadership) to identify storytelling opportunities and ensure accuracy of information.

  • Optimization: Optimize content for each platform and audience. Apply SEO best practices to web content (blogs/website) to improve search rankings, and tailor messaging/formatting for social media, email, and print to maximize engagement.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple content projects simultaneously from concept through completion. Maintain an organized content calendar, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of all content pieces in a fast-paced environment.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, videographers, and marketing colleagues to develop cohesive campaigns. Ensure that visuals, videos, and other media elements complement and enhance the written content.

  • Brand Stewardship: Maintain and reinforce our brand’s voice, tone, and messaging consistency across all content. Ensure all materials meet company guidelines and any industry regulatory standards applicable to marketing communications.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with content marketing trends, industry developments (especially in mortgage/finance), and best practices. Proactively recommend new content ideas and innovative approaches to engage our audience.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Experience: 3–5+ years of professional experience in copywriting, content development, or content marketing. Strong writing portfolio demonstrating a range of content types and styles.

  • Writing & Editing Expertise: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Ability to craft clear, compelling narratives and adapt tone for different channels and audiences.

  • Content Optimization: Solid understanding of SEO best practices and how to optimize content for web search (keywords, metadata) as well as for social media algorithms and email deliverability.

  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) for publishing (e.g. WordPress) and CRM/email marketing platforms.

  • AI & LLM Expertise: Skilled in using Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc...) as a thought partner to accelerate ideation, enhance content quality, and streamline development through effective prompt and context engineering.

  • Project Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously without sacrificing quality.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable conducting interviews and interacting with team members at all levels. Able to build positive working relationships and communicate ideas effectively.

  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: A strategic thinker who can align content efforts with business goals, and an analytical mindset to interpret content performance data. Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges are essential.

  • Adaptability: Self-motivated and able to work independently when needed, while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. Adaptable to feedback and able to adjust content or strategy based on evolving priorities or market trends.
