We are seeking a talented Content Editor to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of promoting clean energy solutions.
Job Summary
As a Content Editor, you will play a key role in shaping and producing engaging content for Solar Builder Magazine. This position involves writing feature stories that highlight innovations in solar construction, editing submissions from contributors, and optimizing digital content to drive audience engagement. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer with a passion for renewable energy, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Write compelling feature stories, interviews, and in-depth articles on topics related to solar energy, construction, and sustainable practices for both print and digital editions.
- Edit and proofread content submitted by freelance writers, industry experts, and internal team members to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to our style guide.
- Collaborate with the brand team to develop content calendars, brainstorm story ideas, and align content with current industry trends.
- Optimize digital content for SEO, including headlines, meta descriptions, and multimedia integration to enhance online visibility and reader interaction.
- Manage social media posts, newsletters, and other digital assets to promote magazine content and engage our audience.
- Conduct research, fact-checking, and interviews with industry professionals to support story development.
- Assist and Produce video interviews, graphics, and visual elements to complement written content.
- Monitor analytics to evaluate content performance and suggest improvements for future pieces.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Digital Media, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in content editing, writing, or journalism, ideally in a digital or print media environment.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft narratives that resonate with a technical audience.
- Familiarity with digital content management systems (CMS), SEO best practices, and tools like Google Analytics.
- Excellent research abilities and a passion for renewable energy or environmental topics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (a plus), and content collaboration tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the renewable energy or construction industry.
- Knowledge of AP style or similar editorial guidelines.
- Portfolio of published work, particularly feature stories or digital content.
