Summary
The Content Library Manager serves as the primary architect and gatekeeper of the company’s digital marketing ecosystem. Their core responsibility is to transform "content chaos" into a structured, searchable system by governing the Brandfolder (DAM) platform and SharePoint through consistent tagging, metadata, and version control. Beyond just organization, they act as a strategic partner to creative and channel leads, recommending the best assets for specific platforms like social media or web to ensure brand consistency and maximize the reuse of existing content.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Own the day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of the DAM (Brandfolder), including structure, permissions, asset standards, and user experience.
-
Conduct regular library audits to assess asset quality, duplication, outdated content, naming conventions, metadata integrity, and usage trends; execute clean-up and optimization plans.
-
Establish and enforce content governance standards, including folder architecture, taxonomy, tagging/metadata rules, naming conventions, and version control.
-
Manage asset intake workflows: coordinate submissions, ensure required metadata is captured, validate file types/sizes, and confirm creative/brand approvals before publishing.
-
Oversee content lifecycle management, including archiving, expiration tracking, and sunsetting outdated or non-compliant assets.
-
Maintain best practices for file management and storage across platforms (including SharePoint), ensuring alignment between working files and “source of truth” approved assets in the DAM.
-
Partner with creative, brand, and channel stakeholders to proactively recommend content packages for priority channels (social, web, email, print), including seasonal themes, launches, promotions, and evergreen needs.
-
Build and maintain channel-ready asset kits (e.g., social toolkits, email modules, web collections, print-ready folders) to streamline campaign execution.
-
Create and maintain clear documentation (playbooks, SOPs, quick-start guides) for how to request, store, find, and use assets correctly.
-
Train and support internal users, setting up onboarding for new team members and ensuring consistent adoption across functions.
-
Monitor and report on library health and performance (asset usage, search success, adoption, time-to-find, download trends) and translate insights into improvements.
-
Coordinate with IT and/or platform vendors as needed for platform enhancements, integrations, user management, and troubleshooting.
-
Ensure content usage aligns with brand standards, licensing/usage rights, and privacy/compliance requirements (as applicable).
-
Deeply understand the company’s product, brand, and customer needs to ensure the library supports high-quality storytelling and channel performance.
-
Other duties as required.
