Content & PR Manager — Higher & Vocational Education (Print + Integrated Comms)Role Summary

We, Cindrebay Educational Foundation ishiring a Content & PR Manager to run our print editorial and integrated communications engine across owned, earned, and partner channels.

The Content Manager will coordinate stories from faculties, campuses, and industry partners; build media relationships; syndicate content across credible outlets; and keep our internal news machine humming—online and offline. The focus areas are Design, Fashion, and Media education (UG/PG and vocational).

What You’ll Do ?

PR & Media Relations

  • Own the PR calendar (launches, rankings/awards, partnerships, events, placements, scholarships).
  • Build and maintain media lists (education, EdTech, design/fashion trades, local city bureaus); pitch, secure, and track coverage.
  • Develop press kits: releases, FAQs, bios, images, data points, and talking notes.
  • Place op-eds/thought leadership for leadership/faculty; brief spokespeople; manage interviews and quotes.
  • Run crisis comms basics: holding statements, approvals, and media responses.

Internal News & Stakeholder Comms

  • Run a multi-campus editorial desk: capture updates from academics, admissions, placements, alumni, and international relations.
  • Produce internal newsletters, town-hall decks, faculty notes, and board updates; maintain an editorial calendar.
  • Standardise voice, style, and fact-checking; champion accuracy and timeliness.

Content Coordination & Syndication

  • Commission, brief, and edit features, case studies, student work spotlights, workshop/masterclass recaps, and placement stories.
  • Package print stories for partner magazines/portals, education supplements, and association journals.
  • Identify new channels (trade publications, podcasts, webinars, LinkedIn newsletters, alumni/partner blogs) and syndicate content with UTMs.
  • Build a contributor network (faculty, alumni writers, freelance journalists, photographers, illustrators).

Print & Production

  • Plan issues and flatplans for magazines, brochures, course catalogues, and annual reports.
  • Oversee copy-editing, proofing, pre-press (bleeds, colour proofs) and printer/vendor coordination.

Partnerships & Events

  • Coordinate with industry partners for co-authored pieces, joint announcements, juries, showcases, and panel placements.
  • Align with Admissions/Marketing on campaigns; ensure message discipline across performance creatives and PR.

Governance

  • Ensure legal, ethical, and brand compliance (consents, citations, plagiarism, privacy).
  • Maintain style guide, boilerplates, and spokesperson bios.

What Success Looks Like (KPIs)

  • Earned coverage: 6–10 quality mentions/month (tiered by outlet authority); ≥30% pitch-to-pickup rate.
  • Syndication: 8–12 partner placements/quarter; backlink quality (avg DR/DA ≥ 50 where relevant).
  • Internal comms: newsletter open rate ≥ 45%, completion of action items ≥ 90%.
  • Content velocity: 12–16 edited pieces/month across formats; on-time-to-press ≥ 95%.
  • Engagement from education audience: time-on-page baseline +20% in 6 months for academic pieces.
  • Crisis readiness: approved playbook + spokesperson matrix live within 60 days.

Experience & Skills

  • 5–8 years in print journalism / magazine editing / communications, with at least 2 years managing PR or an editorial desk.
  • Demonstrated wins in media pitching, story packaging, and content syndication.
  • Domain familiarity with higher education / vocational training, ideally on Design, Fashion, or Media beats.
  • Excellent copy-editing (British English), headline/deck writing, and page furniture literacy.
  • Strong stakeholder management across academic leaders, industry partners, and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of pre-press and print workflows; confident with InCopy/InDesign (or quick to learn).
  • Tools: Google Workspace, Cision/Meltwater (or equivalent) for media lists, GA4/Search Console, UTM tracking, Trello/Asana, Adobe Acrobat for proofs.

Weekly Cadence (Typical)

  • Mon: Newsroom stand-up; PR pipeline review; story assignments
  • Tue–Wed: Interviews, drafting, design handoffs; partner pitches
  • Thu: Proofs/pre-press; media follow-ups; spokesperson prep
  • Fri: Internal newsletter; metrics review; next-week flatplan

Education

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field—or equivalent newsroom/PR experience.

Location & Terms

  • Kozhikode, Kerala (INDIA). Full-time Competitive salary + performance bonus Immediate start preferred
