Job Summary
The Content Marketing Editor is responsible for writing, editing, and refining high-quality marketing content across blogs, email campaigns, and supporting social copy for Black Digital clients. This role supports strategy execution through strong research, clear writing, and disciplined editorial quality control.
This role is well-suited for a mid-level content professional who can balance speed with accuracy and thrives in an agency environment managing multiple clients and deadlines.
Responsibilities
Content Writing & Editing
- Draft, edit, and finalize blog posts, email campaigns, and supporting social copy aligned with client strategy and messaging frameworks.
- Conduct research and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and credibility.
- Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and messaging across all deliverables.
Email Campaign Execution
- Build and deploy email campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or Cvent.
- QA all emails for formatting, links, subject lines, accessibility, and deliverability prior to send.
AI-Assisted Drafting & QA
- Use AI tools for ideation and early drafting where appropriate.
- Apply human editorial judgment, verification, and refinement to ensure clarity, accuracy, and quality.
Collaboration & Revisions
- Coordinate with Account Managers, Creative Services Manager, and Social Media Specialist to incorporate client feedback and revisions efficiently.
- Collaborate with designers to ensure written content aligns with visual assets.
Reporting & Documentation
- Track basic content performance metrics (e.g., opens, clicks, engagement).
- Contribute written summaries or insights to monthly client reports as needed.
- Maintain organized documentation of drafts, approvals, and final assets.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time delivery of assigned content.
- Zero factual or grammatical errors in published content.
- High first-round client approval rates.
- Consistent weekly output aligned with approved scope and workload.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of content marketing or digital marketing experience (agency experience preferred).
- Strong writing and editing skills across blog, email, and social formats.
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and email marketing best practices.
- Experience with at least one email service provider.
- Strong self-QA, organization, and deadline management skills.
