WHO WE ARE
Hickory Nut Gap is a working family farm and a meat distribution company based in Fairview, North Carolina. The meat company, Hickory Nut Gap Meats, collaborates with a network of farmers in our region to produce regeneratively raised, 100% grassfed beef and pasture raised heritage breed pork. Our meats are sold to retail, distributors, food service, and ecommerce customers, as well as through our direct-to-consumer website.

INTRODUCTION
The Content Marketing Manager shapes and amplifies the Hickory Nut Gap Farms brand across all digital touchpoints. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth while ensuring all communications reflect the company’s mission, values, and authentic connection to food, farming, and community. Combining creative storytelling with strategic execution, the Content Marketing Manager leads content creation across social media, email marketing, ecommerce, influencer partnerships, and promotional campaigns to create a cohesive and compelling customer experience.
This position requires a highly organized and creative marketer who can balance big-picture brand strategy with hands-on execution. From managing content calendars and producing engaging visual assets to optimizing Klaviyo email flows and coordinating cross-functional campaigns, the Content Marketing Manager serves as a central connector between marketing, ecommerce, operations, and external partners. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, deeply attuned to consumer trends and digital engagement, and driven by data-informed decision making that strengthens customer relationships and elevates the Hickory Nut Gap Farms brand. The Content Marketing Manager reports to the Head of Marketing and works closely with the Head of Marketing on campaign strategy, planning, and content approvals.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage and execute integrated DTC marketing strategies
Manage email marketing and customer retention initiatives
Influencer & Creator Management
Develop and manage strategic campaigns and partnerships
Coordinate marketing operations, analytics, and cross-functional alignment

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
Position reports to the Head of Marketing and works closely with internal teams and external creative partners. All team members remain available for collaboration, feedback, and support.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While the work is primarily computer-based, the Content Marketing Manager will spend time in the field to capture photography and will occasionally need to lift/carry items for marketing purposes such as trade show materials and promotional items. Photoshoots may involve long periods of standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is primarily in an office setting or at home, remote. Travel expected approximately 2–4 times per month for farm visits, retail/customer visits, events, photoshoots, and trade shows. We have a warehouse in Flat Rock and farm where we occasionally meet in Fairview, NC. Most work is accomplished using the computer and phone.
