Content Marketing Specialist

Alderwood Creative is an award-winning, full-service digital marketing agency based in Knoxville, Tennessee. We’re looking for a Content Marketing Specialist who loves words, respects deadlines, and understands that details matter. This is a hands-on role for someone who’s comfortable juggling multiple clients, writing client-ready copy, and owning campaigns from idea to inbox to report.

What You’ll Do

• Write clear, engaging, and error-free copy for email campaigns, social media, websites, blogs, paid ads, and the occasional print piece
• Plan, write, and execute monthly email marketing campaigns for multiple clients, from subject lines to calls to action
• Work confidently in platforms like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, and Constant Contact, including segmentation and campaign setup
• Build and manage social media content calendars, schedule posts, and engage thoughtfully across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube
• Help create and manage paid social campaigns, including assisting with budgets and optimization
• Upload, schedule, and publish blog posts and articles to client and agency websites
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams on photoshoots, including mood boards and coordination with photographers
• Track performance across email, social, and paid campaigns and turn data into insights clients can actually understand
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports that highlight what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next
• Keep client email lists organized, segmented, and clean
• Jump in where needed. Agency life is a team sport
• Occasionally cover client events outside regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and the occasional overnight trip out of town

What We’re Looking For

• A strong writer with excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills (this is non-negotiable)
• Someone who can self-edit and deliver polished, client-ready copy without heavy hand-holding
• Solid understanding of social media best practices and evolving platform trends
• Experience managing multiple brand voices without mixing them up
• Intermediate experience with social media strategy, SEO basics, and performance analytics
• Comfort working in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• A curious, organized problem-solver who can manage multiple clients and deadlines without losing their cool

The Must-Haves

• At least 2 years of professional marketing experience; agency experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, marketing, graphic design, or a related field
• Relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear, confident communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,500.00 - $47,000.00 per year
