Content Producer / Lead Video Editor – Reality Show

About the Role

We are launching an online family reality TV show and are seeking a Content Producer / Lead Video Editor to help shape the creative vision and assemble compelling episodic content.

This role goes beyond basic editing. We are looking for someone who can review large amounts of raw footage, identify storylines, structure episodes, and guide future content creation so the show feels cohesive, engaging, and professionally produced across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and organize raw video footage
• Select and assemble clips into engaging episodic content
• Shape episode flow, pacing, and narrative
• Edit long-form episodes for YouTube
• Create short-form cut-downs for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Maintain consistency in tone, style, and storytelling
• Collaborate on creative direction and show structure
• Provide guidance on:
• What moments to capture
• How to film content that supports the storyline
• Creating clips that perform well on social media
• Add music, transitions, captions, and light graphics as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience editing reality-style, vlog-based, or episodic content
• Strong storytelling instincts and sense of pacing
• Experience with YouTube and short-form platforms (TikTok, Instagram)
• Ability to think like a producer, not just an editor
• Comfortable working with large volumes of unstructured footage
• Proficiency with professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
• Reliable communication and turnaround times

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience with online reality shows or docu-series
• Understanding of YouTube analytics and audience retention
• Experience collaborating directly with creators or families
• Ability to help plan episode arcs or seasonal content flow

Compensation Options

This is a contract role with flexible compensation options based on experience and scope of work.

Monthly Retainer

• $2,000 – $3,000 per month
• Covers:
• Ongoing episode production
• Short-form content creation
• Creative direction and content guidance
• Estimated workload: 15–25 hours per week

Performance-based bonuses or revenue share opportunities may be available.
