Content Strategist

Overview

The Content Strategist is responsible for auditing and shaping content strategies that drive search visibility, user engagement, and lead generation for our clients. This role combines analytical expertise with creative planning to ensure every client website is optimized for search, structured for growth, and aligned with long-term marketing goals.

What You’ll Do

Audit & Analyze Client Sites

  • Review existing client websites to identify gaps in menus, geographic pages, and blogs that affect search rankings.
  • Evaluate new client sites to detect plagiarism issues and ensure originality.
  • Determine pages that need to be created prior to site launch and recommend ongoing content to improve organic visibility.

Data-Driven SEO & Content Planning

  • Use tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and BrightLocal to analyze performance and identify trends within client industries.
  • Translate data insights into actionable content plans to increase search rankings and conversions.

Collaborate & Communicate

  • Work closely with clients, content managers, and web development teams to ensure strategies are implemented effectively and deliver the best outcomes.
  • Communicate content needs and priorities clearly, providing regular updates and insights.

Manage Internal Content Workflow

  • Maintain internal documentation to track content assignments, progress, and completion.
  • Oversee editorial calendars and ensure writers are aligned with strategy and deadlines.

Develop & Lead Content Strategy

  • Build and evolve content strategies tailored to each client’s marketing goals and audience needs.
  • Identify content opportunities by monitoring industry trends and competitor activity.

Measure & Optimize

  • Define key performance indicators, monitor success, and refine strategies based on analytics and outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices, keyword research, and content architecture.
  • Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and BrightLocal (or similar).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to analyze industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and originality.
