Job Description:

Position Summary

Christian Brothers University (CBU) seeks a creative and detail-oriented Content Strategy and Engagement Manager for the Office of Marketing & Communications to support storytelling and strategic communications that advance the University's mission and strengthen engagement across audiences. This position plays a key role in developing content for internal and external communications, including newsletters, social media, marketing campaigns, and admissions materials.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who understands how to craft compelling messages for different platforms and audiences ? from prospective students and families to alumni, faculty, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and edit engaging content for newsletters, web stories, publications, social media, press releases, and promotional materials.
  • Develop compelling content for official CBU social media accounts.
  • Collaborate with departments across campus to highlight student success, faculty achievements, alumni stories, and University initiatives.
  • Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and messaging aligned with CBU's Lasallian mission and visual identity.
  • Monitor engagement, trends, and analytics to optimize storytelling and audience reach.
  • Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns that support enrollment and engagement goals.
  • Write and edit content for prospective student communications, including emails, brochures, digital ads, web copy, and viewbooks.
  • Assist with website content development, updates, and maintenance to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
  • Assist in developing content calendars and editorial plans that align with marketing campaigns, admissions priorities, and institutional initiatives.
  • Participate in campus events and initiatives to capture stories and content in real time.
  • Complete other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field or direct equivalent years of experience
  • 4-6 years of professional writing or communications/marketing experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills across print and digital formats.
  • Experience with social media management, email marketing platforms, and content strategy.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated storytelling skills with an eye for narrative structure, tone, and emotional impact.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and audience-focused messaging for target audiences.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools.
  • Familiarity with CMS and CRM systems (e.g., WordPress, Slate, Constant Contact, or Mailchimp).
  • Basic understanding of SEO, analytics, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics, with the ability to create engaging content, including video, that drives audience growth and engagement.
