Internship Overview

The Content Writer Intern will support the creative team by assisting with content development, editing, and research related to digital and written communications. This internship is designed for individuals seeking practical experience, professional development, and/or college credit. In this position, you will elevate skills in content creation, copywriting, editing, and digital storytelling across multiple communication channels.

This is a volunteer, part-time internship and does not lead to paid employment.

SLMG CO-OP began as a public relations firm in 2010. We have since evolved into a distinguished educational non-profit. Our mission is to provide experience-based learning opportunities to emerging professionals seeking careers in digital communication, engagement strategy, and human resources.

We accomplish this through strategic partnerships with established companies, small businesses, and emerging brands. At SLMG CO-OP, you will be able to actively contribute to real projects and initiatives that align with your chosen career field.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, engaging content for digital and print platforms, including blog posts, newsletters, and marketing materials
  • Assist with social media copywriting and content development
  • Proofread and edit content for grammar, clarity, accuracy, and brand voice
  • Conduct research, fact-checking, and content revisions as needed
  • Ensure written materials are well-structured, readable, and aligned with quality standards
  • Support additional writing or editorial tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Completion of at least 32 college credit hours in English, Communication, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related courses
  • Strong writing, editing, and an understanding of basic style guidelines
  • Ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable learning new tools in a remote environment
  • Availability up to 15 hours per week
  • Must currently reside in the United States

Prior coursework, academic projects, internships, or personal writing samples may be considered relevant experience.
