We are seeking a highly skilled Content Specialist, someone with strong command of English, excellent research capabilities, and the ability to turn complex technical and industry concepts into clear, compelling content for global audiences.
Role Purpose
The Content Specialist will be responsible for producing blogs, thought leadership articles, LinkedIn posts, newsletters, and executive communications that position PowerTek as a global authority in power systems, renewables, BESS, and grid integration.
This role supports the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) and has a major impact on brand positioning and visibility.
Key Responsibilities1. Content Writing (Primary Function – 60%)
- Research and write blogs on topics such as renewable energy, interconnection, BESS, data centers, EMT modeling, weak-grid stability, HVDC, NERC trends, and global grid modernization.
- Draft thought leadership posts for the MD and COO on LinkedIn
- Write case studies, capability summaries, project highlights, and email narratives.
- Prepare content for the monthly Pulse Newsletter.
- Translate engineering concepts into clear, concise, high-authority writing.
- Maintain a content calendar and propose new topic ideas aligned with industry trends.
2. Research & Industry Analysis (20%)
- Track global energy and power-system trends (IEA, IRENA, NERC, ISO/RTO publications).
- Summarize regulatory updates, interconnection queue reforms, BESS developments, and utility news.
- Turn raw engineering insights into structured, professional content.
3. RFP & Document Review (Secondary – 20%)
- Review RFP drafts for clarity, grammar, structure, and consistency.
- Improve flow, formatting, and storytelling across proposals and capability statements.
- Ensure professional quality in documents submitted to major utilities and institutions.
- Assist with editing and polishing project narratives and technical sections (not writing them from scratch).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- MPhil or Master’s degree strongly preferred (English, IR, Mass Comm, Public Policy, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related fields).
- Exceptional command of written English; grammar, clarity, structure, tone.
- Ability to write content that sounds human, confident, and industry-relevant.
- Strong research abilities and comfort reading technical materials.
- Ability to simplify complex engineering topics without losing accuracy.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing polished, error-free content.
- Basic familiarity with Canva or PowerPoint is a plus (not mandatory).
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior experience writing blogs or reports for technical industries.
- Knowledge of renewable energy, utilities, power systems, or engineering environments.
- Understanding of SEO basics and professional LinkedIn content formats.
- Experience editing proposals, reports, or academic papers.
