Continuous Improvement Specialist
Location: Las Vegas, NV or Wichita, KS Department: Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Reports to: Director of Quality AMA NA
Role Summary
The Continuous Improvement Specialist drives Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across Aero Metals Alliance North American service centers to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). This role focuses on eliminating waste, improving material flow, strengthening quality at the source, and sustaining improvements in metals processing and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead CI projects using Lean/Six Sigma tools (Kaizen, A3, DMAIC) to deliver measurable operational and financial results
- Facilitate Kaizen events and deploy 6S, standard work, and visual management on the shop floor and in transactional processes
- Establish daily management and leader standard work to support site goals
- Improve material flow, WIP, and inventory performance through pull systems and cell optimization
- Reduce scrap and rework using mistake‑proofing, SPC, and standardized processes
- Coach teams and leaders to build a sustainable continuous improvement culture
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma
- Hands‑on experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations
- Strong problem‑solving, data analysis, and change‑management skills
Preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt a plus)
- Aerospace, defense, space, semiconductor or metals processing experience
- Familiarity with AS9100, AS9120, ISO9001 and customer‑driven quality requirements
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs (frequently); up to 75 lbs (occasionally)
- Push/pull 25–50 lbs (frequently)
