Our client based in Sohar is looking to hire a Continuous Improvement Specialist lead who would supports the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives by assisting in performance monitoring, process improvement activities, and implementation of corporate standards. The role focuses supporting operational performance analysis, process optimization, and compliance with global operational excellence frameworks under the guidance of line management.
Main Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement
-
Lead and support the implementation of standard operating mechanisms, including KPIs and processes based on Lean principles and Daily Management System (DMS) practices.

Assist in identifying operational and business performance gaps and support the development of improvement initiatives and action plans.

Support operational excellence gap analysis using continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., PDCA – Plan, Do, Check, Act).
-
Support operational improvement projects by coordinating with project teams and monitoring progress.
-
Contribute to the implementation of Corporate and Regional Operational Excellence and Digitalization initiatives.
-
Support process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across operational activities.
-
Partner with HSE teams to embed CI into safety protocols, ensuring process improvements never compromise terminal integrity or regulatory standards.

Act as a "change agent," mentoring staff in Six Sigma methodologies to sustain long-term performance gains.

Lead investigations into operational failures or maintenance delays to prevent recurrence and enhance system reliability.
Performance Monitoring & Data Analysis

Monitor critical dashboards for terminal performance, including throughput rates, turnaround times, and energy consumption.

Collect, analyze, and report operational performance data to support decision-making.
-
Conduct data analysis to generate insights that support operational performance improvement.

Assist in translating operational and customer feedback into measurable performance indicators.
-
Support preparation of operational performance reports, dashboards, and presentations.

Support benchmarking activities and best practice sharing within the organization.
Compliance, Risk & Governance

Support compliance with corporate standards, operational procedures, and internal policies.

Assist in preparing and coordinating internal audits, process reviews, and departmental assessments.

Support process audits and ensure adherence to defined operational requirements and systems.
-
Support identification of operational risks and contribute to risk mitigation actions.
-
Participate in operational excellence internal assessments and performance reviews.
Training & Knowledge Management

Support Lean Six Sigma learning environment and associate development by guiding, facilitating and assisting with training events and simulation exercises.

Support training and awareness sessions related to continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
-
Maintain operational excellence documentation, procedures, and best practice records.
-
Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives and continuous improvement awareness activities.
Stakeholder Coordination

Maintain effective coordination with internal stakeholders at terminal level.

Support communication and reporting requirements related to operational excellence initiatives.

Support implementation tracking and follow-up of improvement action plans.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Science, Business, or related field preferred.

3–7 years of experience in operations, continuous improvement, or process optimization roles.

Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is highly valued for driving structured improvement projects.

Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA or equivalent).

Understanding of operational processes and performance monitoring systems.

Strong analytical and data handling skills.
-
Experience in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI or equivalent) preferred.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).
