Attorney Position - Contract/ Of Counsel

Our practice is dedicated to providing high-quality legal services to individuals and families, and we pride ourselves on our client-focused approach. In addition to our core legal practice, we serve as Of Counsel to several prominent title insurance agencies, providing essential legal support and underwriting expertise.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join our team as Of Counsel. The ideal candidate will be a licensed attorney in good standing with the Tennessee Bar. A successful candidate will have significant experience in both estate planning and title insurance underwriting. This dual expertise is a must for this role.

This is a unique opportunity for an attorney to work with a flexible schedule, including the option for nights and weekends, to accommodate personal and professional commitments. The attorney will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, including drafting estate planning documents, managing probate and trust administration cases, and providing legal counsel and underwriting support to our affiliated title insurance agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Hold consultations, seminars (virtual & in-person), draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced directives.
• Manage probate and trust administration cases from inception to completion.
• Provide legal counsel to clients on estate and trust matters.
• Serve as Of Counsel to title insurance agencies, providing expert underwriting opinions and resolving title issues.
• Draft and review real estate closing documents and conduct closings.
• Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on complex real estate and estate planning issues.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and client service.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Tennessee is required.
• Significant experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
• Significant experience in title insurance underwriting is a must.
• Additional state licensing (e.g., GA, AL, NC, FL) is a plus and could lead to additional revenue opportunities.
• Excellent writing, organization and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage firm staff.
• Proficiency with legal software and technology.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience. This is a unique opportunity with potential for growth and additional revenue based on performance and additional state licensing.
