Location: Remote (serving all four federal districts of Texas)

Schedule: Flexible, appointment-based

Allmand Law Firm, PLLC is seeking a Contract Attorney to conduct consultations and wrap appointments for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies. This role is primarily about new client acquisition and meaningful client engagement. Compensation is based on the number of clients consulted and engaged. The firm handles marketing and making first contact with prospective new contacts. There is no cold-calling, and most appointments are set for the attorney-consultants in advance by regular staff. This is a remote, appointment-based role with a flexible schedule, ideal for an attorney who enjoys client interaction and helping individuals navigate financial recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual initial consultations with potential clients exploring bankruptcy relief.
  • Lead wrap appointments for clients already screened as eligible but needing further attorney analysis or clarification on complex issues.
  • Assess client eligibility and recommend appropriate bankruptcy chapters (7 or 13).
  • Clearly explain the bankruptcy process, legal options, and next steps.
  • Accurately document consultations and communicate findings to firm staff.
  • Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and staff attorneys as needed.

Qualifications

  • Admitted to practice in federal bankruptcy courts for one or more of the Districts of Texas (Northern, Southern, Eastern, or Western).
  • Holds a bar license from any U.S. jurisdiction that allows the attorney to practice in Texas (not limited to the Texas Bar).
  • Experience in consumer bankruptcy law preferred.
  • Excellent client communication and analytical skills.
  • Reliable internet and professional home workspace.
  • Ability to manage an independent, appointment-based schedule.

Job Type: Contract

Base Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
