Contract Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be based in San Jose and possess a strong background in Criminal Defense. This role involves travel to all San Jose courts, providing expert legal advice, consistent client communication, and representing clients in legal proceedings. The Attorney will work collaboratively within a law office environment to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal cases.
• Draft and review legal documents, including motions, change plea forms, and other pleadings.
• Manage client cases from inception through resolution while maintaining clear communication.
• Attend court hearings and represent clients in negotiations and settlement conferences.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting various practice areas.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and share insights on complex legal issues.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices across various fields of law.
• Proficiency in legal drafting with excellent writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A commitment to providing high-quality legal services and advocating for clients' best interests.
• Ability to handle cases in neighboring areas a plus.
• Spanish-speaking a plus.
