Contract Fabrication & Assembly Technician (Temporary / Part-Time)

Job Overview
Sparks Overland is seeking a skilled and dependable Fabrication & Assembly Technician to assist with the completion of a small production run of portable heaters. This is a temporary, contract-based opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.

The work will be preformed in a well-equipped home workshop located in the Horsetooth Mountain area west of Fort Collins. We offer a flexible schedule and project-based compensation, making this a great fit for an experienced fabricator, mechanic, tradesperson, or skilled hobbyist looking for short-term contract work.

We are seeking someone who can work independently, maintain quailty standards, and help complete approximately 13 units within a two-week timeframe. Training and a completed example unit will be provided. Candidate should be comfortable learning an established assembly process and working independently.

Compensation

• Project-based pay: $165 per completed heater
• Estimated project total: 13 heaters
• Potential earnings: Approximately $2,150
• Flexible hours
• Additional contract opportunities may be available based on project needs

Duties

• Assemble portable heater units using provided examples and established build methods
• Perform mechanical assembly and light fabrication tasks
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively
• Perform basic soldering and wiring tasks
• Conduct quality checks and troubleshooting during assembly
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Meet production and quality expectations within project timelines
• Communicate progress and any technical issues promptly

Qualifications Required

• Prior experience in soldering is mandatory
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and machining tools
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments, fabrication processes, and assembly techniques
• Ability to read measurements and follow build examples accurately
• Knowledge of warehouse procedures including inventory management and material handling
• Reliable transportation to the Horsetooth Mountain work location
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance during fabrication.

Pay: $1,075.00 per week
