We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Contracts Manager to join a growing consultancy based in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all contractual aspects of construction projects in the Middle East. This role requires a meticulous and proactive professional with a strong background in construction law and contract management, particularly within the context of a consultancy environment.


Key Responsibilities


Contractual Correspondence: Draft, review, and manage all contractual correspondence, including but not limited to notices, claims, and variations.


Contract Negotiation: Lead the review and negotiation of main contract and subcontract agreements, ensuring favorable terms and mitigating risks for our clients.


Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of all contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.


Dispute Resolution: Identify, analyze, and manage potential disputes and claims, providing expert advice and support to the project team.


Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.


Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with expert contractual advice and support.


Qualifications and Experience


Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is highly desirable.


Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a contracts management role within the construction industry. Essential: Demonstrable experience working on projects in the Middle East.


Consultancy Background: Proven experience working for a construction consultancy firm is highly advantageous.


Skills and Competencies


Expertise: In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC), construction law, and dispute resolution procedures.


Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise contractual letters and reports.


Negotiation: Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a proven track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts.


Analytical: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.


Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Self-motivated: Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
